Isla Fisher Confirms Vince Vaughn Wants to Make a 'Wedding Crashers' Sequel
It’s kind of shocking that we never got a sequel to Wedding Crashers. The 2005 R-rated comedy was a monster success, helping to pave the way for an influx of R-rated comedies, not to mention solidifying Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson as two of the genre’s biggest stars. Wedding Crashers also delivered breakout roles for Isla Fisher and Bradley Cooper, and with its $285 million worldwide gross, stands till this day as one of the most popular comedies of the past 20 years.
And yet, no sequel. Until now?

While promoting Nocturnal Animals on the Today Show, Isla Fisher let slip that she ran into Vince Vaughn recently at a party, and he said there’s movement on a Wedding Crashers sequel. According to Fisher it may not be a done deal just yet (“I shouldn’t really announce anything on morning television,” she says), but she does confirm that there is “some talk of it.”
Which makes sense, especially since we’ve seen other comedies like Dumb and Dumber, Zoolander and Anchorman return to screens with new installments recently, but in our opinion Wedding Crashers 2 could be the most successful of them all, assuming they take the right approach and everyone — including Bradley Cooper’s spoiled awful boyfriend character — return for more wedding hilarity.
With the cat out now out of the bag, look for more news on a Wedding Crashers sequel to arrive soon. Watch Fisher’s full Today interview below.
