James Jay Lee Is Discovery Channel Gunman

The lunatic responsible for the takeover at Discovery Channel Headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland Wednesday has been identified as James Jay Lee, a slightly-disturbed, “Save-The-Planet” zealot with a history of protesting against the Discovery Channel and loitering outside the network’s central offices at Georgia Ave. and Colesville Rd. in suburban Washington. In 2008, Lee was collared on misdemenor charges after he spearheaded a protest against Discovery.

At approximately 1 PM Wednesday afternoon, an armed and possibly explosive Lee, 43, stormed into One Discovery Place and fired a single shot before bellowing: “Nobody is going anywhere,” according to police and witnesses.

Police say the Discovery Channel may have been targeted because some of their programming on environmental issues.
