Janeane Garofalo is in chats to star in a spinoff of the CBS drama Criminal Minds, Entertainment Weekly dished this month.
If network chiefs have their way, Garofalo, 45, may join Oscar winner Forest Whitaker in Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, insiders say. The Saturday Night Live alum had originally been on course to star in an untitled medical drama produced by John Wells. When that show failed to score a fall pickup, Garofalo began discussions to join the cast of Suspect Behavior, which stars Whitaker as the leader of an elite team of FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit agents.
Garofalo will play an agent. The comedienne was last seen playing FBI agent Janis Gold on 24.
