It has become known that John Travolta thanked the residents of Ocala, his adopted hometown in Florida, for their organized online campaign to promote his hit “Grease” release which is limited, in that area.
The classic of 1978 is being shown only in selected theatres across the country under the title “Grease Sing-A-Long.” All its songs are provided with subtitles created in karaoke-style.
At the very beginning, Ocala was not included into the list of locations where it would be showed. However, its residents started a poll on-line which enabled the most voting fans to bring that film into the city. Ocala became the leader among other cities in terms of the vote number. It was hundreds of votes ahead of other cities.
With the help of JTP Films, John Travolta issued his statement in which he thanked the residents of Ocala and even promised to buy snacks and distribute them for free.
The actor confessed that he really wished to be in Ocala together with his dear fans.
It is known that the star couple – John Travolta and Kelly Preston – purchased a house for $8 million in 2003 in Ocala.
