Ice Cube, Josh Duhamel and Ryan Seacrest are in negotiations to join the growing cast of Garry Marshall’s ensemble comedy New Year’s Eve, The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.

The follow-up to last year’s romantic comedy Valentine’s Day, the script follows series of interconnected stories across the New York City over one evening. A host of stars have already signed up for the feature, among them: Sofia Vergara, Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Lea Michele, Ashton Kutcher, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Til Schweiger, Sienna Miller, and Hilary Swank.

According to the trade paper, Duhamel is being courted to play a hopeless romantic who spends the day trying to get to The Big Apple in time for a holiday party, where he hopes to run into the Mystery Woman he became infatuated with the year before. Hip-hopster-turned-actor Cube would play a NYPD cop who is working with the director of the Times Square festivities (played by Swank). Seacrest, who hosts ABC annual NYE broadcast from Times Square would play himself.

New Year’s Eve opens in theaters Dec. 9.
