Kim Kardashian “Mom Jeans” Defense

Sexy socialite Kim Kardashian is getting into the Mother’s Day spirit by speaking out in defense of the high-waisted pants popularly dubbed “Mom Jeans.”

The usually-stylish Keeping Up With The Kardashians star can’t understand why she took such a beating on the blogosphere after she squeezed her famous caboose into a pair high-waisted denims.

“So I wore these high-waisted jeans yesterday and I’ve noticed some people online are calling them ‘mom jeans. For some reason, high-waisted jeans are always branded with this negative term and I think it’s kind of ridiculous. I don’t think these are mom jeans at all,” Kim, 29, blogged on Friday. “Who’s to say any mom wouldn’t look fabulous in them!?” she continued. “Any woman who is proud of her curves should be able to flaunt them in high-waisted jeans!!! So you know what… I’m proud to rock the mom jeans!”

Though the pants may just scream “1987″ for some fashionistas, Kim is just one of a number of celebs who swear by the style, including Mischa Barton, Katie Holmes, and Jennifer Lopez. A then-pleasingly plump Jessica Simpson set off a national debate about the trend when she wore high-waisted jeans during a performance in Florida in January 2009.
