Kites fails to soar high at the Box Office

Bollywood movie Kites was a much-hyped and much-anticipated movie. Although it had a great start at the Box Office, it failed to impress the audience for long. It made a worldwide collection of Rs 650 million in its opening weekend.

However, the mixed response of the viewers has dwindled the enthusiasm about the movie and the potpourri of Spanish, Hindi and English have only put off the audience. Although the movie has been made well, it lacks pace and story, due to which the audience is staying away from the cinema halls to watch this movie.

The problem which Kites now faces is to recover the huge amounts the worldwide distributors have invested in it. This amount is a whopping Rs 120 crore and judging by the response of the audience, things look bleak for the movie.

The overseas response to the film has been mixed and nothing has emerged completely positive for it. In the UK, the movie grossed only half of the expected collections at Rs 1.86 crore in the opening week. In the US, although the movie features in the Top 10 charts of latest releases, the movie collected Rs 4.53 crores in its opening week.
