‘Lucifer’ reveals his demon face to Linda

Highlight on New Movie Released DVD

Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) and Lucifer (Tom Ellis) let their demon faces out to play in Monday’s (Oct. 31) Halloween episode of “Lucifer,” but something tells us Lucifer’s big reveal isn’t going to go unnoticed.

Since the moment Lucifer first announced himself to be the devil, we’ve been waiting for this shoe to drop.

No one, from his therapist Linda (Rachael Harris) to partner Chloe (Lauren German), believes that he’s truly Satan incarnate, no matter how convincing he tries to be. Over the course of two seasons, we’ve wondered why Lucifer doesn’t just come out and show them his creepy, demonic face like he does to evildoers. Shapeshifting seems like the best way to prove you’re actually the ruler of all evil, after all.

Now, we finally know why he never let go of his super sexy mortal exterior.

After killing his brother Uriel (Michael Imperioli), Lucifer is not what we’d call at the top of his game. Showing up drunk to crime scenes, making out with witnesses and urging a sharpshooter to kill him sounds like some pretty destructive habits, even for the devil, which is why we were relieved when he eventually ended up in therapy.

Talking through issues is always the best way to deal with them. However, Lucifer’s already-wavering guard came all the way down, and it didn’t exactly end well.

When faced with Lucifer’s true identity during a pivotal therapy session, Linda had pretty much the worst reaction a therapist can have: Shock, horror and silence. Poor Lucifer opened up to someone he trusted — at a time in his life where he definitely needed someone to accept and support him — and he got emotionally smacked in the face for it.

Now that Linda knows the truth, you kind of have to wonder what she’ll do with this information?

Our first guess is she’ll confront Amenadiel (D.B Woodside) about his and Lucifer’s angelic nature. Finding out that your whole world is a lie (and biblical characters do in fact walk among you) is a huge realization to deal with, and one of the only other people she can talk to about it besides Lucifer is his brother Amenadiel. Or perhaps she’ll turn to Maze, since those two have grown so close?

We also have to wonder if she’ll be a key player in convincing Chloe that Lucifer is actually telling the truth?

When push comes to shove, Chloe is really the one we’re all waiting to see find out the truth, and this move seems like a step in the right direction. Even better, Chloe will have a much-needed therapist on hand to help her sort through this issue when and if she ever accepts the truth.

“Lucifer” airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
