New boyfriend? Maybe. New look? Definitely. Mary-Kate Olsen — blonde just last week — debuted a new hair hue Monday night at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards in New York City. The starlet’s new color — a rich, chocolate brown — further distinguished her from her sister, Ashley, who was also at the awards.
Mary-Kate and Ashley have changed their hair colors in the past; in 2006, Mary-Kate experimented with a reddish hue before returning to blonde, while Ashley went platinum and then brunette. By 2007, they were both back to blonde.
However, Monday night was about more than Mary-Kate’s hair color; the Olsens received top honors for their line, The Row, taking home the Womenswear Designer of the Year award. The well-dressed women beat Marc Jacobs and Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler.
Also honored Monday night: Tommy Hilfiger, who received the Lifetime Achievement award, and Johnny Depp, who was chosen for the Fashion Icon award.
