Michael Douglas Catherine Zeta-Jones Wedding Vow Renewal

Catherine Zeta-Jones plans to renew her vows with husband Michael Douglas, who has been battling advanced stage throat cancer since July.

Michael, 65, and Catherine, 40, got married at New York’s Plaza Hotel on Nov. 18, 2000 and the Oscar winners want to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary this month with a huge bash in The Big Apple, a source close to Michael and Catherine tell Britain’s Sunday Express.

The only thing standing in the way of wedded bliss the second time around is Michael’s touch-and-go condition and the cancer treatments that leave him exhausted.

“Michael is very weak with his chemotherapy and radiation treatment, but this is something he is determined to do. He was in tears when Catherine suggested they take their vows again and sees it as a wonderful expression of their love. Mike’s a fighter and he has promised himself he’ll be strong enough for their second big day.”

The couple’s two children, Dylan Michael, 10, and Carys Zeta. 7, are also expected to be in attendance.
