Movie News: Liam Neeson Touted for ‘Narco Sub’; Jack Huston Confirmed As ‘The Crow’

Narco Sub: Liam Neeson is touted to star in Narco Sub, an action thriller about a drug lord “who forces a disgraced American naval officer to navigate a cocaine-packed submarine past the U.S. Coast Guard.” Neeson previously served on board a submarine in 2002’s K-19: The Widowmaker (above). Brian Kirk (multiple episodes of TV’s Game of Thrones, as well as Boardwalk Empire and Dexter) has just been signed to direct. Producers on the project include Ridley Scott and Simon Kinberg. The Crow: Jack Huston will star as The Crow in the upcoming remake of the dark 1994 action thriller. The actor made a strong impression on TV’s Boardwalk Empire over the past few years and then nabbed a lead role in the currently filming Ben-Hur remake. Corin Hardy will direct The Crow, with Claire Wilson currently writing a new draft of the screenplay, based on James O’Barr’s graphic novel. [Deadline]

In the Deep: Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me) is in “early negotiations” to direct In the Deep. Tony Jaswinski wrote the original script for the action-thriller, which follows a young woman who is stranded on a buoy off an isolated beach when a great white shark appears. Leterrier must first complete Grimsby, a spy comedy with Sacha Baron Cohen and Rebel Wilson. [Variety]

Tracers Clip: In an exciting new clip from Tracers, Taylor Lautner must flee on foot from a very determined assailant, flying down floors, escalators, and other obstacles in an abandoned mall before taking the chase outside. Lautner stars as a bike messenger who is wanted by the Chinese mafia in the movie, which is now available to watch via various Video On Demand platforms. [MovieClips]
