Movie News: Vera Farmiga Joins 'Godzilla' Sequel; 'Gotham City Sirens' Vill…
Godzilla: King of the Monsters: Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring 2, above) has joined the cast of Godzilla: King of the Monsters. She will portray the mother of a young character to be played by Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things); Kyle Chandler is already set to costar as the girl’s father. Michael Daugherty (Krampus) will direct the sequel, which is slated to open on March 22, 2019. [Variety]

Gotham City Sirens: Director David Ayer (Suicide Squad) shared an image that instantly set Twitter aflame. The image is of Black Mask, a villainous character who’s appeared in DC comic books for years. Since Ayer is currently developing Gotham City Sirens, a spin-off that will revolve around Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), fans have speculated that Black Mask, a crime boss “fascinated with collecting masks,” may be the primary villain in the movie. It’s based on a memoir by Jessica Hendra and Blake Morrison, in which Hendra relates her life as the daughter of an editor of humor publication National Lampoon; he allegedly abused her verbally and sexually for years.
