Oprah Rehab Show Will Go Behind The Scenes Of Eating Disorders Treatment Center

Move over, Dr Drew: The Queen of Talk — who publicly battled against the bulge for much of her adult life — is launching a rehab-themed series about compulsive eaters.

Oprah Winfrey’s cable network, OWN, has added Inside Rehab to its inaugural lineup. Set within a facility for the treatment of eating disorders, the one hour, eight-episode documentary series will shadow a group of diagnosed compulsive eaters as they undergo a 42-day recovery program.

Network executives say the docu-soap “gives viewers a rare look inside an eating disorder treatment facility where patients face their demons and struggle to come to terms with what’s behind the food. This is what happens after the intervention.”

OWN, a co-venture between Winfrey and Discovery Communications, will launch Jan. 1.
