We’ve all heard the tape. We all have our opinions. We are, of course, referring to the audio of Donald Trump telling now-former Access Hollywood host Billy Bush his preferred icebreaker with a woman is to simply “grab her by the p***y.”
Regardless of which side of the party line you may fall, hopefully there is one thing we can all agree on – and that’s that CNN commentator Ana Navarro wins the whole damn thing.
On Friday night, the CNN contributor – and GOP strategist – lost it while discussing the presidential hopeful’s degrading sexist rant, and obliterated fellow CNN commentator (and Trump supporter) Scottie Nell Hughes. If you missed the must-see moment, you can watch it here, but we are now looking ahead to what comes next.
RELATED: ‘SNL’ is the real winner in the 2016 presidential election
Before Trump and Hillary Clinton take the stage for the second presidential debate on Sunday night, the fine folks at “Saturday Night Live” get first crack at the whole debacle. We know Alec will be back as The Donald. We know Kate will bring out her best Hillary.
But who plays Navarro (in what we are guessing is a perfectly timed cold open)? For us, there are three obvious – and all equally amazing – choices…
CECILY STRONG
Strong brings that certain combination of snark and charm, and she certainly looks the part.
And while Jesse Tyler Ferguson has offered his vote for Strong to tackle the role, we would instead expect to see her reprise her amazing, perfectly crazy-eyed take on Scottie Nell Hughes, which she first debuted last season (above). Let’s not forget serves as the show’s resident Melania Trump, as well.
Perhaps Lorne and the gang would be ever so kind to at least offer up a take on the whole situation courtesy of the Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started a Conversation With at a Party.
AIDY BRYANT
We heart Aidy Bryant. We heart just about every single thing she does. And as we put this together, we are having difficulty containing our snicker at the vision of Bryant belting out the “p” word over and over at her faux CNN counterparts. She’s already won our hearts as Adele, perhaps donning a darker wig would make for the perfect take on Navarro.
MELISSA VILLASENOR
The “SNL” newcomer made her debut last week with a spot-on Sarah Silverman impression. And after seeing her pre-“SNL” takes on the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Natalie Portman, Rihanna and Owen Wilson (!), at this point we are fairly certain there isn’t a character Villasenor couldn’t pull off.
