Famed photog Mario Testino shot the engagement photos for Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Testino has captured many of the world’s best known celebs for magazine covers, including Vogue and Vanity Fair, as well as doing commercial work for design houses like Gucci and Tom Ford. The much-lauded Testino, who is best known for snapping supermodels in Dolce & Gabbana and Calvin Klein campaigns, is also noted for taking some of the most iconic snapshots of William’s late mom, Princess Diana. Testino shot Princess Diana for Vanity Fair in 1997 as well as for images that were shown in her Kensington Palace from 1981 until her death 16 years later.
“William is a very photogenic person … self-confident, relaxed, impressive – and so much like his mother,” the Peruvian-born photographer said recently. “I think it comes from a sense of security.”
Though there’s no word on when the photographs were taken or when they’ll be released, PEOPLE reports that the flicks were taken sometime after the couple’s engagement announcement on Nov. 16 and will be released to the public in the near future.
Will and Kate will wed at Westminster Abbey in London on April 29, 2011.
