Rihanna is Queen of the Pop Charts across the pond — and rewriting the history books in the process.
The diva’s fifth charttopping album, Loud, just helped Rihanna become the first female solo artist in UK chart history to achieve five No.1 singles in five consecutive years, according to the Official Charts Company. Britain’s current bestselling single, “What’s My Name,” follows half a decade of former No. 1 singles by Rihanna; “Only Girl (In The World)” (2010), “Run This Town” (2009), “Take A Bow” (2008), and “Umbrella” (2007).
The last solo artist to achieve the feat was Elvis Presley, who enjoyed a No. 1 hit every year from 1957 to 1963.
This week alone, the Pride of Barbados nabbed chart positions for No. 1 album, No. 1 single, and two other songs in the Top 10.
