Diva? Taylor Lautner is suing for “emotional distress” over the late delivery of a luxury trailer — prompting the RV dealer at the center of the suit to have a little fun at the actor’s expense.
The California RV dealer sued by the Twilight hunk for failing to deliver a luxury RV on time has challenged the buff actor to a push-up contest to settle the legal dispute, The Hollywood Reporter reported Monday.
The decked-out, $300,000 trailer was due to arrive by June 21 for the actor to use on the set of Abduction, an action-thriller featuring Sigourney Weaver and Alfred Molina. Lautner’s father Dan ordered a customised $300,000 personal trailer for his son’s use during filming, however the company, McMahon’s RV, allegedly failed to deliver the vehicle on time or to the Lautners’ specifications. Taylor — who plays werewolf Jacob Black in the popular vampire saga — is reportedly suing for breach of contract, fraud, and emotional distress.
“As a direct and proximate result of McMahon’s contract breach… SKE and Taylor Lautner were deprived of the said $3,000 weekly payment they would have otherwise received. Further, by reason of McMahon’s breach, SKE and Taylor Lautner were deprived of the use and occupancy of the subject RV… resulting in displeasure, annoyance and emotional distress to Taylor Lautner.”
On Monday, McMahon presented an alternative approach to resolve the dispute — a push-up challenge between McMahon, 47, and Lautner. If McMahon wins, he said he will donate $40,000 to a local children’s hospital. If Lautner wins, the dealer agreed to pay the sum to the actor.
“We’re taking a negative and making it into a positive to benefit the sick children at Children’s Hospital of Orange County,” McMahon said during a press conference Monday.
