It’s a good week for Disney fans, especially if they love the live-action remakes of animated classics trend. A few days ago, the hit new version of The Jungle Book became available on home video, and now we get another glimpse at the next effort, Beauty and the Beast. Two new images from the movie, which so far has been kept pretty tightly concealed, are circulating online.
The pics come from a brief sneak peek found on the new 25th anniversary video release of the animated original, out next month. One of the images shows concept art depicting what Cogsworth and Lumiere might look like in the finished feature. Producer Jack Morrissey confirmed it to be official but claims on Facebook, “These designs are close but may not be final.”
The other image is a screencap from a behind the scenes look at Luke Evans as Gaston and Josh Gad as Le Fou in the tavern, presumably during the performance of “Gaston.” No one shows his back like Gaston…
We’ve still got some time before we see a lot more of Beauty and the Beast, which opens on March 17, 2017, with Evans, Gad, Emma Watson as Belle, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere and Dan Stevens as the Beast. But you’ll be able to find additional footage in that special edition of the 1991 classic when it goes on sale on September 6.
