Ozzy’s wife is taking another crack at the daytime gabfest circuit in a new ensemble talk show patterned after ABC’s Emmy-winning chatfest, The View.
National Enquirer snoops dish that Sharon Osbourne, 57, will be Queen Bee-In-Charge on a female-oriented series, featuring cash-strapped Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, CBS Early Show anchor and Big Brother host Julie Chen, and actress-turned-autism rights advocate Holly Robinson-Peete, who Sharon grew close to during their time as competitors on the last season of Donald Trump’s The Celebrity Apprentice.
“They want this to be similar to The View, but more entertaining and informative,” a TV tipster familiar with the deal told The Enquirer for a report in the mag’s June 7 issue. “Sharon is adamant about getting out of the studio and doing more segments on location. All the women on the show are well-known and would automatically bring in a huge audience right away,” added the spy.
“Right now, it’s in the beginning stages and the whole thing is still being put together.”
This isn’t Sharon’s first foray with daytime, the spunky spitfire fronted an ill-fated, self-titled chatfest in 2003. The Sharon Osbourne Show was sent to the TV graveyard just a few months later as critics ripped the effort and blasted the Rock n’ Roll First Lady’s poor interviewing skills and inability to read cue cards.
Is the America’s Got Talent judge worried about how her latest talk show will be received? Not a chance!
“Sharon is very excited about it because, unlike her syndicated talk show a few years back, it’s a group project, so everything won’t fall on her shoulders.”
The still-untitled show is expected to debut next year. Will you be watching?!
