It’s hard to squeeze a love life into stopping alien viruses, defeating cyborgs and chasing down rockets, but somehow Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) makes it work… kind of.
With Mon-El (Chris Wood) playing dumb about that kiss he and Kara shared, Kara really has no choice but to ignore the smooch and everything it implies, which is probably for the best.

After all, she’s headed to help out Barry (Grant Gustin), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and the rest of the Arrow-verse heroes as they take on some aliens on “The Flash,” “Arrow” and “Legends of Tomorrow.” We’re anticipating some hilarious hijinks as the rest of the crew are introduced to Kara — and her impressive superpowers — for the first time. Plus, there’s not much opportunity to worry about who kissed whom when bloodthirsty Dominators are around every corner.
All things considered though, the pace of Kara and Mon-El’s love story is moving a little quickly for our taste.
Their chemistry is certainly undeniable, and nothing uncovers hidden feelings like a near miss with death, but still, you have to remember that these two haven’t known each other very long.
True TV love stories tend to progress a little more slowly, with a little more suspense. Even if watching Mon-El and Kara exchange a tragic goodbye kiss makes us want them to live happily ever after with tons of Daxamite-Kryptonian super-babies, we’d still caution them to slow down. No reason to let this romance burn out too fast.
Better to make fans wait for it than to let that story fizzle out.

One thing we’re glad we didn’t have to wait for, however, is Alex (Chyler Leigh) coming out to her mother.
“Supergirl” has consistently handled social issues with grace, and Alex’s recent revelation that she’s gay has definitely been one of them. Fans are pretty unanimous about how beautiful and uplifting Alex’s story has been for the LGBT community thus far, and we can only expect it to continue to be a beacon of hope and acceptance.
Now that Kara is headed to Barry’s (Grant Gustin) earth to battle the Dominators, one can only hope she manages at some point to drop a line to Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) that her sister’s super hot — and out of the closet.
“Supergirl” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
