Superhero Buzz: When You Can Watch Ben Affleck's 'Batman' Movie, Plus: New '…
We’ve got updates on superhero movies out very soon and superhero movies out in the next couple years, including the next Batman movie, which could arrive somewhere in the middle. Check out the latest on the DCEU and the MCU here:
Batman’s Due Date
We know Ben Affleck is definitely directing a solo Batman movie, but Warner Bros. hasn’t slated a release date for the movie yet. Well, the studio’s CEO did just hint at when we can expect the DC Extended Universe intallment. “I think it’s a year and a half out,” says Jeff Bewkes in a recording shared by ComicBook.com.
He also calls the reboot of the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice “a big success” and mentioned how helpful it is that Affleck is serving as an executive producer on Justice League. Whether he means we can expect The Batman (or whatever it’s called) in 18 months or that it will start shooting in 18 months is unclear. [via Cinema Blend]
Thor’s Godlike Muscles
Chris Hemsworth has always exhbited a very muscular physique in the role of Thor, but he’s going the extra measure for Thor: Ragnarok, which makes sense if he’ll be displaying his all for gladiator games against Hulk. The actor shared the above image on Instagram primarily in support of his favorite Australian rules football team, the Western Bulldogs.
Hemsworth will need to keep working out, however, if he wants his guns to get bigger than his trusty hammer, Mjolnir, as seen in some fun art in Taika Waititi’s mockumentary from Comic-Con. Thor: Ragnarok is due on November 3, 2017. [via Cinema Blend]
Doctor Strange’s TV Spots and Avengers: Infinity War Appearance
As we get closer and closer to the release of Doctor Strange, with just over a month to go, Marvel is tossing us tons of last-minute promotional materials, including a lot of TV spots. You can check out four new ads below, none of which features much in the way of footage we haven’t already seen.
Meanwhile, star Benedict Cumberbatch recently confirmed to Empire magazine that he will be in Avengers: Infinity War, but “to get us all together will be quite something,” he says. “That’s why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter.” Doctor Strange is out November 4. Avengers: Infinity War is due May 4, 2018. [via /Film and ComicBookMovie.com]
