Wednesday was anything but a “Perfect Day” for talent show sensation Susan Boyle.

The “Wild Horses” hitmaker, who shot to fame after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent last year, was due to perform Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day” — accompanied by a 100-piece children’s choir — on Wednesday night’s telecast of America’s Got Talent. However, when she arrived to soundcheck the tune at the show’s Los Angeles studios on Wednesday, Boyle learned Reed wasn’t a fan and pulled the plug on the performance at the last minute, refusing Boyle, 49, permission to cover the song.

Sources tell TMZ.com Boyle burst into tears. A heartbroken Susan was left with just two hours to rehearse a new song but decided it wasn’t enough time and told organizers she wouldn’t be taking to the stage. Boyle promptly caught the next thing smoking back to Britain.

“It’s a big deal to change a song at the last minute. Susan was really upset. She was in tears and was forced to pull out of the show, and decided to come back to the UK.”
