Taylor Momsen Mistakes Scotland For England

Taylor Momsen is an expert at turning Hollywood on its ear with her profane antics and even raunchier language, but the blonde baddie could use a refresher course in World Geography.

Momsen infuriated fans at a gig in Scotland over the weekend by calling their country England in an on-stage blunder.

“Glasgow, you are looking good tonight. We are The Pretty Reckless and we have heard that Glasgow is the craziest crowd in all of England,” Momsen bellowed at the sold-out audience.

Just one problem – Glasgow is in Scotland.

Unfortunately for the controversial Gossip Girl star, the flub did not go unnoticed by the audience. The comment angered the crowd, who began yelling and booing at the bewildered band.

“You could tell people were really offended. The crowd just seemed flat from then on,” concert-goer Stuart Neilson told The Daily Record. “There really isn’t any excuse. Surely someone backstage could have said something to her… I think she needs to go back to school for geography lessons.”

“The noise from the crowd was deafening. People began to cheer as they presumed she was going to say Scotland, but when the penny dropped all you could hear was boos,” another concertgoer Paul Krane told the paper. “It was right at the start of the gig and it took the shine off it. I was really looking forward to it, but after Taylor said that it just left a bad taste. She didn’t even apologize.”

There’s good reason for that: The teenager reportedly only learned of her gaffe when someone backstage told her after the show! Momsen has since apologized for the snafu, taking to Twitter to tell fans it was an accident.

“Glasgow, I love you, I now HAVE to tour SCOTLAND (haha, sorry bout the slip up!)” Momsen later Tweeted.
