The 2020 Film Independent Spirit Awards have been handed out Saturday in recognition of the most effective in indie movies from 2019.
Willem Dafoe received the primary award, Best Supporting Male, for his position in “The Lighthouse.” “Uncut Gems” received Best Editing, whereas the Best Documentary award went to “American Factory.” Best Cinematography went to Jarin Blaschke for “The Lighthouse.”
Kelly Reichardt was awarded The Bonnie Award, which acknowledges a mid-career feminine director with a $50,000 unrestricted grant. The John Cassavetes Award, given to the most effective characteristic made for below $500,000, was given to “Give Me Liberty.”

“Parasite” received Best International Film. Zhao Shuzhen received Best Supporting Female for her position in “The Farewell.” “Marriage Story” received Best Screenplay. Adam Sandler received Best Male Lead for his efficiency in “Uncut Gems” and Renée Zellweger acquired the Best Female Lead for her position in “Judy.”
And lastly, Lulu Wang’s “The Farewell” received the highest honor of the evening, Best Feature.
