The Situation Book Flops!

It may be time for The Sitch to stick to fist-pumps and sit-ups after his first book — Here the Situation: A Guide to Creeping on Chicks, Avoiding Grenades and Getting in Your GTL — sold a disappointing 4,000 copies after nearly a month on booksellers’ shelves.

Reality personality Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was the first of his Jersey Shore castmates to add the title “Author,” but agents at Gotham Publishing are less than pleased with The Sitch’s lack of starpower among the literary set.

“For a high-profile author, 4,000 copies it pretty bad,” Jim Milliot of Publishers Weekly told Life & Style Weekly’s Scene Queens this week. “It’s definitely a disappointment to the publishing company which will probably lose money on the deal.”

Mike’s foray into the Writing World isn’t done just up. Even with his low sales, the waiter-turned-docu-soap millionaire is in talks to write a least one more book on the Gotham imprint, we hear.

Books by Shore stars Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “J-Woww” Farley, and Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio will arrive on shelves in 2011.
