Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt’s ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ Suits Displayed at Comic-Con

Straight from the floors of Comic-Con come these photos of the suits worn by Tom Cruise (below left) and Emily Blunt (right) in Doug Liman’s “Edge of Tomorrow,” previously titled “All You Need Is Kill.”

The film centers on Cruise’s character, Lt. Col. Bill Cage, who’s killed in action and gets stuck in a time loop, endlessly killing aliens with each revolution of the space-time continuum. Blunt plays his partner in crime, Rita Vrataski, a special forces soldier with an equally deft touch for alien slaying and time travel.

Cage and Vrataski’s frequent combat with extraterrestrials no doubt requires special armor, and these suits look like they’re up to the job. Each outfit is equipped with several built-in guns (though we can’t help but notice Cruise’s ammo appears to be a bit bigger than Blunt’s) and lots of metal plating and tough-looking synthetic material, giving off the impression that the heavy-duty suits can take a lot of hits.

“Edge of Tomorrow” is expected to show off fancy new footage at Comic-Con this week. The film is due out in theaters June 6, 2014.
