Watch ‘Downton Abbey’s’ Season 4 Christmas special trailer
“Downton Abbey” may not start airing its fourth season in the U.S. until January, but in the U.K. Season 4 is almost done with — the only thing left is the two-hour Christmas special. Slight spoilers ahead for the upcoming season, so don’t keep reading if you don’t want to be spoiled.
We’ve already examined the episode description and checked out the pictures released for the yuletide episode (why hello, Paul Giamatti). Now check out the teaser trailer released by British station ITV.
Above, Shirley MacLaine and Maggie Smith exchange snark (yes!), while Lady Rose is presented to the King and Queen at Buckingham Palace. It also looks as though Lady Edith is still wrestling with a decision about what to do with her baby — we sincerely hope Michael Gregson comes popping up in the final frames of the Christmas special and she can get her happily ever after.
The Christmas special airs Dec. 25 in the U.K. and “Downton Abbey” premieres in the U.S. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014.
