This might just be the Throwback Thursday to end all Throwback Thursday’s.
Bethenny Frankelgraced social media with a classically retro snapshot from her beauty queen days, and it appears as if she once called none other than Halle Berry a fellow competitor! Sporting only the most stylish polyester gown the ’80s could offer, both Bethenny and Halle posed right alongside each other for the Miss USA-worthy photo opp.
“Hi @halleberry #missteenlongisland #tbt,” the Real Houswives star captioned the moment.
And although it appears Frankel went home sans sash and sparkly crown that night, one thing’s for sure: She’s no sore loser. After all, how many can say they lost Miss Teen Long Island to the Halle Berry?!
It’s no secret the Oscar-winning beauty got her start in the pageant world, first winning Miss Ohio USA in 1986 before finishing first runner-up to Miss USA. Berry made history as the first African-American contestant to compete for the 1986 Miss World title, where she ultimately came in sixth.
Just last month, the 50-year-old opened up to W magazine about her humble beginnings, revealing she had to work even harder to get industry professionals to take her seriously because of her looks: “I came from the world of beauty pageants and modeling and right away when people heard that I got discounted as an actor.”
As for Frankel, she too dabbled in Hollywood at a young age while working as a production assistant for Saved By the Bell. Frankel’s life in the limelight skyrocketed quite a few years later when she was cast on Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York City, and the rest (as they say) was history!
Thank you, Bethenny, for blessing the end of our work week.
