With a little over a month until its return, WGN America has released the official Season 2 key art for its groundbreaking series “Underground.” The last time we checked in with the series, the Macon 7 was no more. Rosalee (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) may have tasted freedom — but with Noah (Aldis Hodge) and Ernestine (Amirah Vann) back in chains, it wasn’t long before her drive to do what’s right kicked back into high gear.
As we can see below, Alano Miller is back as Cato — we’re still not over Season 1’s death fakeout — and we’re aching to see how his newfound riches will change him. Speaking of change, how will August (Christopher Meloni) deal with his own evolving reality? Something tells us he’s still out for vengeance against Rosalee…

While there are familiar faces returning for Season 2, an array of new talent joins the fold as well: Jasika Nicole, DeWanda Wise and Aisha Hinds — who takes on the highly anticipated role of Harriet Tubman — are all joining the series.
The timing of the artwork release is important, as Thursday (Feb. 2) marks the show’s involvement with 2017’s aTVfest — where the series is being honored with the Cast Award for outstanding contributions to the art of television.
Already racking up some pretty great accomplishments, it’s safe to say that Season 2 of “Underground” is ready to hit the ground running.
“Underground” Season 2 premieres Wednesday, March 8, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on WGN America.
