What to Watch Tonight: The Premieres of Glee, New Girl, and Unforgettable
What to watch on Tuesday, September 20.
Premiere Week continues with returning favorites and the debuts of some high-profile new series. Whether you like teenage singers, murder investigators, morbidly obese people, or Kathy Griffin, there’s really something for everyone! Except you, Steven M. Anton of Grand Rapids, Illinois. There is nothing on for you tonight (sorry). For everyone else, though, check these out:
SEASON 3 PREMIERE, 8pm, FOX
Glee
America’s favorite teenage rascals are BACK, and they are SASSIER than ever. In tonight’s season opener, the students of McKinley High continue to lick their wounds after their loss at Nationals. Plus Sue Sylvester’s running for Congress, Blaine is considering a transfer to McKinley, and Sam’s mysterious absence may or may not be explained. Aw, the locker room showers will seem so empty without him!
SERIES PREMIERE, 9pm, Fox
New Girl
After a humiliating breakup with her live-in boyfriend, a hip yet weird lady (Zooey Deschanel) moves into an apartment with three dudes she met on Craigslist. I really loved this sitcom, but I guess your reaction will depend on how you feel about attractive female weirdos? They are okay with me! (p.s. Don’t get too attached to the Damon Wayans, Jr. character.)
10pm, FX
Sons of Anarchy
The Feds get closer to taking down SAMCRO, plus Clay and Jax continue to campaign for the Mexican-cartel deal. Let’s just hope it goes better than the one on Breaking Bad.
SERIES PREMIERE, 10pm, CBS
Unforgettable
Meet Carrie (Poppy Montgomery), a fiery redhead with an impeccable memory who uses her gifts to help solve murder investigations. Hopefully you like her face, because most of the show is her staring into the middle-distance remembering details from crime scenes. Perfect TV, in other words.
SEASON 9 PREMIERE, 8pm, CBS
NCIS
In tonight’s season premiere, when Tony’s involvement in a secret assignment leads to the death of another NCIS agent, Gibbs will help him determine how exactly it went down. And the whole time they will banter, because close-proximity murder ain’t even a thing to these dudes.
9pm, CW
Ringer
Bridget’s right smack in the middle of Siobhan’s awful life, and now she must try and cover up the crime she accidentally committed. Plus Machado’s skeptical about “Siobhan” and Gemma’s suspicions of her husband’s infidelities (with Siobhan) intensify. Plus hopefully some green-screen work worthy of a Tommy Wiseau film?
