Renault to raise Mirca car production capacity

Renault took a long time to make assessment of the Indian market. But after it arrived at some conclusions, its alliance with Nissan now expects a remarkable success in the market.

The alliance has now made preparations for launching its small car – Nissan Mirca. Production capacity of the car is likely to be raised to 400,000 units per year and that too ahead of schedule before 2015.

Currently the company is capable of producing 2 lakh cars at its Chennai unit and is relying on its success on the V platform to launch the Mirca. This car will be exported to over 100 countries, with the sales for domestic market in 2012-13 expected to be 100,000 units.
