Say buh-bye to Smallville: On Monday afternoon, The CW Network announced that its longrunning supernatural series — which stars Tom Welling chronicling the events leading up to Superman Clark Kent’s coming out as the Man of Steel — will end with a two-hour series finale airing May 13.

“Taking on Darkseid and battling the darkest of his demons, this two-hour event will send Clark soaring towards his birthright to secure his place in history as the world’s greatest protector,” the network said in a press release. Smallville-Cancelled Smallville-Ending Smallville-Series-Finale

Clark will finally make the transition into a superhero during the series ender, Smallville creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar promise fans.

“Paying homage to 10 seasons is no small task, and wrapping up each character and story arc has been extremely important to everyone involved in the show,” added executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders. “We’re excited to be able to make the final moments of ‘Smallville’ a television event, as the character we’ve grown up with makes his legendary transformation.”

Smallville airs Friday nights @ 8PM on The CW.
