Keep the fat jokes to yourselves, Meanies: Ms. Aretha Franklin (That’s Ms. Queen of Soul to you!) has pulled the plug on a pair of planned concerts in Brooklyn this week after taking a tumble in the bathtub on Sunday, WABC has learned.
The “Respect” legend had been slated to perform at Wingate Field in Crown Heights on Aug. 9 and again at Asser Levy Seaside Park in Coney Island on Aug. 12 as part of an intiative by Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz, but was forced to cancelled her performances after injuring herself in the freak accident.
Organizers are working to reschedule the shows.
