Sarah Ferguson Lands Invite To Will & Kate Royal Wedding As Bride & Groom Enter Couples Counseling

The Original Fergie has reportedly turned down 28 offers from American TV networks to work as a commentator during the April 29 royal wedding of her nephew Prince William and his bride Kate Middleton. (This despite the Duchess’ crippling mountain of debt…) She can’t very well commentate on it if she’s a guest, which Britain’s Daily Mirror reports she will be.

William is especially close to his cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, who are Fergie’s daughters, and insisted that the proverbial Black Sheep of the Royals receive an invite to the nups at Westminster Abbey this spring.

“Wills and Kate have caused shockwaves in the royal household by inviting her to their wedding, leading royal watchers to tag her ‘The Teflon Duchess’” says the paper. “Wills grew up with Fergie and her daughters, and remembers her as a fun-loving auntie who was his mother Diana’s confidante.”

Meanwhile, Kate and William will begin their “religious guidance sessions” — also known as couples counseling — with the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of London this month. The soon-to-be newlyweds are expected to cover subjects such as how to remain faithful, how to cope with arguments, parenthood preparation, and dealing with the in-laws. Kate is also believed to be having sessions to prepare her for life as a princess.
