What a surprise – Lindsay Lohan’s alcohol-monitoring bracelet was activated when she partied at the recent MTV Movie Awards. The incident meant bad news for her probation and nearly landed the “Mean Girl” behind bars after a second bench warrant was issued for her arrest. However, Lohan’s always-defensive mother — Dina — claims the actress’ SCRAM bracelet was set off when a reveller at the Movie Awards afterparty spilled a drink on Lindsay’s leg.

Lohan, 23, was ordered to wear the SCRAM ankle bracelet after a court ruling two weeks ago after she skipped a hearing relating to her 2007 drunk driving conviction. Dina insists the device detected the presence of alcohol after a partygoer accidentally splashed some booze on the star.

“She was at the MTV Awards and somebody spilled a drink on her leg, which must have set off the SCRAM bracelet. She has done absolutely nothing wrong and shouldn’t have to wear the bracelet in the first place. She is doing absolutely fine,” Dina yapped to The New York Post gossip column PageSix on Wednesday.
