Bruce Springsteen Reflects On His Life in ‘Western Stars’


In the trailer for “Western Stars,” Bruce Springsteen takes a wistful look again at his life, the demons he’s overcome and the work he’s finished to shine a light-weight on this planet.

“The older you get, the heavier that baggage becomes that you have to sort through, so you run. I’ve done a lot of that kind of running,” Springsteen says. “I’ve spent 35 years trying to learn how to let go of the destructive parts of my character. And I still have days when I struggle with it.”

“Western Stars” is a documentary and live performance movie co-directed by Springsteen and Thom Zimny that features archival footage of the Boss together with a reside efficiency of all 13 songs featured on his album of the identical title. The movie was made in lieu of a live performance tour to help of the album. Springsteen staged an intimate efficiency inside a 100-year-old barn to seize the acoustic and melancholy tones of the album.
