The BBC is having trouble holding on to
“Doctor Who.” Following a
material leak that hit the news on July 7, it now seems that the entire Season 8 premiere episode — featuring the debut of Peter Capaldi as the Doctor — is available on video-piracy sites.

The Radio Times reports that its reporters have actually watched the “Doctor Who” footage and confirms that it appears to be an entire episode.

“RadioTimes.com has seen the black and white footage branded with BBC Worldwide watermarks,” the site’s report reads. “Numerous visual effects shots are missing and it uses a placeholder title sequence from Matt Smith’s last series. Nevertheless, it appears to be Peter Capaldi’s first episode in its entirety.”

The leak reported earlier included “Doctor Who” scripts and shorter pieces of footage. Now that more footage has leaked, the BBC issued a statement regarding the episode:

“This is part of BBC Worldwide’s ongoing security investigation into leaked unfinished ‘Doctor Who’ materials. This content is currently being removed and originates from the same Miami server disabled last week, it is not a new issue. We’d like to thank the amazing ‘Doctor Who’ fans who are continuing to keep fansites and social media spoiler-free.”

“Doctor Who” Season 8 premieres with “Deep Breath” on Saturday, Aug. 23.
