Govinda’s role in Raavan modeled after Hanuman

Though speculation about Govinda’s role in the Mani Ratnam’s about to be released movie Raavan is not clear yet, but speculations are that his character is modeled after Ramayana’s Hanuman.

The star actor is playing a forest officer and he helps Vikram, playing the character of Dev, in searching for his wife Ragani, a character played by Aishwarya Rai, who is abducted by Beera, played by Abhishek Bachchan.

But it is also learnt that Mani Ratnam has chopped down his part abruptly at the editing table. The actor was absent also in the film music launch in May.
