Bombay High Court has refused to accept the petitions that asked the court to stop release of Prakash Jha’s film Rajneeti. The petitioners had alleged that the film was involved in the copyright infringement of the script and another application said that the film had defamed Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The film is scheduled to be released on April 4. Against these petition, Jha’s advocate, Ashish Kamat argued that the script of the film was already registered with the Indian Motion Pictures Association in March 2009.

To this, the judge said that Hindi film scripts are similar to another and it is hard to give relief to the petitioner. The court also refused to grant a stay on release of the film on the charges that the character of the film resembles with Sonia Gandhi.
