Jake Johnson Heads to 21 Jump Street

Jake Johnson has signed on for Columbia Pictures’ 21 Jump Street , reports Variety .

He’ll be joining Jonah Hill (with whom he worked previously on Get Him to the Greek ), Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Rob Riggle, DeRay David, Dave Franco in the action comedy from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs writers/directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Based on the Fox series that ran from 1987 to 1991, the movie will center on two undercover cops (Hill and Tatum), who are assigned to work in schools. Cube is playing the police chief and Larson is the female lead.

21 Jump Street is scheduled to hit theaters on March 16, 2012. Filming starts later this month.
