Thanksgiving weekend: The time for family, turkey and discovering that TV series you didn’t know you needed in your life.
For John Mayer, he came across NBC’s new hit series starring Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Milo Ventimiglia and others.
Oh yes, the man behind “Daughters,” “Your Body Is a Wonderland” and “Half of My Heart” discovered This Is Us.
“Just saw the first episode of This is Us and I’m hooked,” John revealed over the long holiday weekend. “Cryin’ and hooked.”
He added, “Not even wiping away tears for the next episodes. Just gonna let the first ones create tracks for a more even, efficient flow.”
John, you are not alone!
But wait, Mandy Moore just so happened to read the tweets on social media. And yes, she was more than delighted to hear of this famous new fan.
“Glad you’re digging it, @JohnMayer,” she shared on Twitter. John would later add, “Beyond dig, @TheMandyMoore. I’m about to attempt one of the most emotionally reckless stunts ever: watching an episode ON AN AIRPLANE.”
Got the tissues handy, flight attendants?
In just a few short episodes, This Is Us has earned rave reviews from fans and critics alike. In fact, the show has received People’s Choice Award and Critics’ Choice Television Award nominations.
“Last day on set before the holiday & thinking of all there is to be grateful for,” Mandy shared on Twitter earlier in the week. “Wishing you & yours a very happy & healthy Thanksgiving.”
This Is Us airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. only on NBC.
