Another Hollywood couple has decided to call it quits this summer.
E! News can exclusively confirm Josh Groban and Kat Dennings have split after almost two years of dating.
“It was a mutual breakup,” a source shared with E! News. “They are still friends and care about each other, but it’s not the right time for them now as a couple.”
The Hollywood pair made their relationship official back in October 2014 when they stepped out together at the Carousel of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills. “They were so cute together!” a source said of the stars. “They were adorable on the carpet. She was whispering in his ear a lot and they seemed really happy.”
Soon after, Josh would admit that the charity event was the first time the 2 Broke Girls star had ever heard him sing.
As to what brought them together, the Broadway star admitted to Ellen DeGeneres that both bonded over their nerdiness.
“She’s, well, she’s such a brilliant and funny person,” he gushed during an appearance on the talk show. “Humor is such a huge thing for me, so the fact that we could talk about Monty Python and all sorts of weird other things, I was like, ‘OK, yeah, we’re on the same page.'”
While the two Hollywood stars finish up the summer with a new relationship status, both will be hard at work on various projects.
Josh is set to star in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1982 beginning early October while Kat’s popular CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls returns the same month.
