Lady Gaga Justin Bieber Comic Book Lawsuit

An attorney representing Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber is threatening legal action against the creators of a line of popular biographical comic books amid allegations that at least two of the graphic tales were created without authorization.

The “PokerFace” hitmaker and teen sensation Bieber have both been animated as part of a series of graphic biographies by Bluewater Productions. The Gaga version was released in June and Justin’s comic is set to hit shelves next month. However, both singers’ camps have retained the services of lawyer Kenneth Feinswog in a bid to block the publications. He has served the company with a cease-and-desist letter, threatening to sue Bluewater bosses if the books aren’t pulled out of production.

For his part, Bluewater publisher Darren G. Davis is refusing to bow under the threat of legal pressure and insists his animators have every right to create comic strips from the lives of celebrities.

“We are 100 percent within our first amendment rights. We knew our rights on this before we jumped into the biography world. These are 100 percent biographies on their lives. We reach out to all the celebrities and some choose to work with us and some do not. If they do choose to work with us, we donate ads and money to a non-profit (organisation) of their choice. We offered the same deal to Bieber’s people.”

Singer Taylor Swift, soccer star David Beckham, and most recently, TV/comedy icon Betty White are among the dozens of stars who have been recreated as comic characters by Bluewater staffers.
