“Curb Your Enthusiasm” fans are still waiting to find out if (or hopefully when) the show will return for season nine, but Larry David is already hard at work on the next best thing: a feature length movie for HBO titled “Clear History.” And he’s recruited quite the cast.
Along with previously announced Jon Hamm and Michael Keaton, “History” will co-star Kate Hudson, Eva Mendes, Bill Hader, Danny McBride, Philip Baker Hall, Amy Ryan and “Curb’s” own JB Smoove, according to Deadline.
The website also reports details of the storyline which centers on David as a former marketing executive at an electric car company whose rivalry with his boss (Hamm) costs him a fortune and forces him to relocate to a small island off the coast of Massachusetts and change his name. When his boss shows up on the island, their rivalry starts up again.
Hudson plays Hamm’s glamorous wife, McBride fills the role of David’s best friend, and the other actors are set to play various residents of the island.
The partly improvised film will be directed by Greg Mottola, who scored a box office hit with “Superbad” and recently directed the pilot of HBO’s “The Newsroom.” There’s no airdate just yet, but it’s probably fair to expect it sometime next year.
Larry David going head to head with Don Draper sounds good to us, how about you?
