‘Legends of Tomorrow’ isn’t done with the JSA or Vixen yet

What happens when the Justice Society of America meets the “Legends of Tomorrow”? It turns out lots of fighting, some Nazis here and there and the death of the JSA’s leader, Rex Tyler (Patrick J. Adams). With the “Legends” leaving 1942 at the end of the episode though, it begins a new chapter between the two groups.

As Rex died, he said two words to Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers): Time traveler. That now gives the JSA member a lead that will cause her path to keep on crossing with the Legends.

“We’ll deal with it very directly in [the next episode], we basically pick up pretty much facing that issue head-on,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim says. “I think you have a clue to it in Rex’s final words to her that I think if you’re Vixen and you’ve got Rex Tyler dying in your arms and you hear the words ‘time traveler,’ who would you think is responsible?”

Of course, viewers know the Legends weren’t the time travelers that killed Rex — it was Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher). Who knows how long it will take Vixen to figure that out, though?

In the meantime, you also haven’t seen the last of the rest of the team.

Guggenheim teases, “I don’t want to spoil too much. I will say that we do go back to 1987 and we’ll meet a much older version of Obsidian, who is going to be played by Lance Henriksen. That’s one way. And then, we have another device up our sleeves that I don’t want to spoil because it deals with stuff that is pathology-based in the back half of the year.”

Just because the Legends left the 1940s behind doesn’t mean the era has left them once and for all.

“DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
