Aging pop icon Madonna is definitely dating the young choreographer she was spied locking lips with in a Manhattan hotspot last month.
Interestingly enough, English actress Emma Thompson recently went on record with her feelings on the cougar phemenon, but more on that later.
Brahim Rachiki, choreographed the 52-year-old singer’s Sticky & Sweet Tour, found himself following in the footsteps of Brazilian model Jesus Luz as the next young beecake reportedly warming her bed. Madge initially denied the romance reports, but Rachiki’s mother Patricia Vidal has revealed that her son is, in fact, dating the “Lucky Star” singer.
She said that Rachiki, 33, recently called to tell her that he is dating an older woman and she was shocked when he revealed that the lady in question is Madonna.
“My mouth fell open when I realized that my son was Madonna’s new boyfriend. It’s something I’m still trying to come to terms with,” said Vidal. “Madonna was already a big star when I was a schoolgirl, let alone when Brahim was growing up. The whole situation is very strange indeed – surreal even,” she added.
That’s one way of putting it.
Nanny McPhee star Emma Thompson, on the other hand, breaks down The Cougar Craze sweeping other middle-aged Hollywood staples in even choicer terms.
Thompson– who won an Oscar for her screenplay to Sense and Sensibility — believes middle-aged women who move with younger partners, are “predatory.”
“I don’t get it. It seems predatory and I don’t really approve,” says Thompson, who herself is seven years older than her husband Greg Wise.
“It’s easy to be flattered, but I am no cougar,” the star added during Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards last week, where she won a prize for Role Model of the Year.
“I’ve had a lot of male attention here from budding young actors asking about getting on in showbusiness. One even asked me how to change his agent. It got me thinking about the cougar thing. I am a happily married woman, but, even if I was single, I wouldn’t be up for it.”
