Mark Your Calendars: Here's When You Can Watch the Next 'Mission: Impossible' Mo…

There are a few actor and filmmaker matchups that you can always, always count on generating something special. That’s the case with Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie. Jack Reacher, Edge of Tomorrow, Valykrie, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation— it doesn’t matter if McQuarrie is just writing or if he’s also directing, if they have credits on the same movie, you’re going to have a good time.

With that in mind, you should go ahead and make a mental note that you have somewhere to be on July 27, 2018. That’s when Cruise and McQuarrie’s next film together, the currently untitled Mission: Impossible 6, will hit theaters.  Unfortunately right now all we know about the project are those two names. We don’t even know if Rogue Nation breakout Rebecca Ferguson will be returning. But the movie now has a release date and an expected spring of 2017 filming schedule, so that’s something to celebrate today.

If you happen to be a hound for release date news, that’s not the only schedule change Paramount made today. They also set a December 22, 2017 date for Downsizing, a new comedy from Sideways director Alexander Payne. It’s a comedy starring Matt Damon as a guy who tries to improve his life by shrinking himself. It also stars Kristen Wiig, Jason Sudeikis, Christoph Waltz, Neil Patrick Harris, Margo Martindale and Alec Baldwin.
