Like Mother, Like Daughter. Piggybacking off of a move originated by her famous daughter Miley, Cyrus Family matriarch Tish Cyrus has petitioned a California court to legally change her name from Leticia Finley Cyrus to Tish Finley Cyrus.
According to the documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court last week and obtained by TMZ, the second wife of country star Billy Ray Cyrus wants to change her name to Tish because she has been known as such for “as long as she can remember.”
The Cyrus Women are no strangers to ditching their given names. IIt was a move done by the tween star herself in 2008. Miley was born Destiny Hope Cyrus but filed documents to be legally known by her stage name — Miley Cyrus — two years ago.
