Montel Williams $1 Million IRS Tax Debt

Montel Williams was to daytime TV in the ’90s what Phil Donahue was for the genre a decade before. Boasting hard-hitting topics with a tough-as-nails persona, Williams easily carved out a place for himself as the King of the Talk Show Circuit.

Now he’s more like chopped liver…

His body ravaged by the effect of multiple sclerosis, Montel and wife Tara Fowler have found themselves on the sour side of the US government after falling more than $1 million behind their federal income taxes.

According to documents filed in New York City by the Internal Revenue Service this month, The Williames have been hit with a federal tax for failure to fork over $1,039,609.41 in 2008 and 2009.

Just weeks ago, Montel was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia at an airport in Wisconsin after TSA officials discovered a pipe he uses to smoke medical marijuana.
