Mindy Kaling: Paul Feig (Ghostbusters) is in talks to direct Mindy Kaling in a new untitled comedy. Kaling wrote the original screenplay, which will take place “in the world of late-night talk shows.” Emma Thompson is already set to co-star. [Variety]
Apostle: Dan Stevens (The Guest, above) is in negotiations to star in Apostle, a new action thriller to be written and directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid). The movie revolves around a man who heads to an island in search of his sister, who’s been kidnapped by a religious cult. [Variety]

Avengelyne: Comic book character Avengelyne, created by Rob Liefeld (Deadpool) and Cathy Christian in 1995, is heading to the big screen. Paramount has acquired film rights; Akiva Goldsman will produce and may direct. The character is an angel who battles the forces of evil. Back in 2013, Gina Carano was touted for the lead role.
